broncolor

Sync voltage

In the operating manual of my digital camera it is stated that the sync voltage of the connected flash equipment must be less than 3 V. Does the broncolor flash equipment correspond with this value?
There is an ISO standard no. 10330 defining the specifications of the sync circuit in the camera and flash unit. Our units meet this specification. We cannot comment on the camera side; this information should be available from the camera manufacturer. We are not aware, however, that there have been any breakdowns when our units were used with digital cameras.

Flash tube

What is the average life span (in flash exposures) of a broncolor tube?
The lifespan of flash tubes depends on the flash energy used, the interval between flashes and the ambient temperature (modelling light power and position of the head). Therefore, a generally valid figure cannot be given.

Lamp heads

Can I run 1600J heads on 3200J packs, will I immediately blow the tube?
It is not recommended to use 1600J tubes on 3200J. They will not blow but their lifespan will be extremely short.

Lamp heads

Can you run old heads on the current packs?
Yes, any old head launched since 1972 and rated up to 3200J will work with any power pack rated up to 3200J.

Ringflash

Will the Ringflash work on the Mobil Battery pack?
Yes. Please remember that due to the long flash tube the power setting should not be less than 7 to allow proper triggering.

Mobil Studio Booster

Will the Mobil Studio Booster run on 110V, again does this have any effect on flash power output?
Yes, the Booster operates on 230 and 110V or, in the Japanese version, on 230 and 100V. If operated on 100V the light output will be reduced by 3/10 f-stop.

Powerpacks Grafit A

Can I run heads & Grafit A Packs on 110V, is there any loss of flash output?
Grafit A Packs are bi-voltage and can be used on all voltages without loss of flash energy. Whether the flash heads can be used worldwide depends on the type of head. Recent designs are multi-voltage  (Pulso G head, Picolite, Unilite, Primo head, Litestick), when a bulb for the local voltage is inserted. Heads without cooling fan can also be used worldwide (Ringflash). Older designs (Pulso F) can only be used at their rated voltage.

VISATEC

Sync voltage

In the operating manual of my digital camera it is stated that the sync voltage of the connected flash equipment must be less than 3 V. Does the VISATEC flash equipment correspond with this value?

Our units meet this specification. We cannot comment on the camera side; this information should be available from the camera manufacturer. Kobold

Batteries

How long will the BA123/5 5Ah battery last when used with the Dlf 200 Reporter HMI?
With this battery you will get 35 min., with a 7 Ah battery you will get 55 min.

Weatherproof daylight lamps

Can these lights be re-ignited if they are out in the rain?
Yes, they can be ignited even under these conditions.
